#about

Namaste. This is Uma, sharing a bit about my spiritual background.

Chosen Silence

If I were to speak openly about my spiritual experiences — especially of Her presence in my life — I could probably write an entire series about them.

Yet, I have now chosen silence.

In the past, whenever I shared such experiences publicly, they often led to rumors and misunderstandings. When society is ready, She will find Her own way to reach people. I do not need to force anything.

Guru Mantra Experience

Though I have chosen silence in many matters, there is one experience I wish to share. It was the culmination of my spiritual journey.

I once chanted a Guru Mantra shared by Sage Om Swami in one of his books. I approached it without expectations — only with reverence, love, and curiosity.

Soon afterward, I had a vivid dream.

An unknown sage appeared before me. He was seated outside a house in some remote place. As I looked towards him, a dark cloth — almost like a blackboard — appeared between us.

Upon it was written a single word:

Nirupa

Nirupa...

To the best of my knowledge, I had never come across or reflected upon this word before that dream. Yet, I accepted it with gratitude.

Around the same time, my husband unexpectedly gifted me a black shawl, completely unaware of the dream. To me, it felt like a confirmation. Something that strengthened my faith in both the mantra and the experience.

Coincidence? Perhaps.

But you wouldn't call it that when you've had a ton more such experiences.

And so, I chose to accept it as grace.

Since then, the name Nirupa has held a special place in my life. I now use it as both my spiritual name and my pen name.

My Spiritual Name

So, this is now my Spiritual Name, shared in the same spirit and format I asked of others — for one must first walk by example.

Om Tat Sat 🙏🏼

Love,
Suvrata Nirupa Sri
